One of the most important things to me as a teacher is supporting students who who have a dream and the commitment to excel in Biology A-level, but whose circumstances make this an uphill challenge.
While I have the bursary discount already, I wanted to offer something beyond just a 25% off for students who need it.

*Maximum of 5 scholarships students per year
*If student starts in Y12 and they can remain on the scholarship for the full two years of their A-levels
Eligibility Requirements
You must hit at least two of the Eligibility criteria to receive the scholarship:
- Recipient of the 16-19 bursary
- Attending a non-private non-grammar school
- Refugee status
- Postcode - POLAR quantile 1 or 2
- Young carer
- Significant health condition impacting attendance and/or ability to study
Previous Scholarship student
Meet Melisa. She was one of the five scholarship students in 2023-2024 and she achieved an A* in Biology and is now going to study Medicine at University.
How To Apply
Applicants must submit a 1000-word essay to support their application. The essay should:
- Describe the circumstances or challenges you have had to overcome so far.
- Explain what you would want to do with your future if money and circumstance were not limiting factors, and how receiving this scholarship would support you in achieving your goals.
The essay must be written entirely by you. Do not use AI tools such as ChatGPT or any other form of assistance. I am not interested in the quality of the writing. I am interested in you as a student and want as authentic a response as possible.
